Bicycles.
In 1884 Henry Curry started building and selling bicycles. His sons, Henry and William, took over the business when Henry retired in 1909. The sons merged their own shops (trading as The Louth Bicycle Company) with the Campion Cycle Company.
Currys was incorporated in 1927 and by then had 180 stores. They were still selling bicycles but they also sold gramophones, toys and radios. It grew from there.
